Refund Policy
When you can get your money back, how to ask, and how long it takes.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
1. Summary
We want you to be satisfied with what you buy. In short: you can request a full refund on a paid course within 7 days of purchase, provided you have completed no more than 20% of it. Membership fees are refundable only before your membership period starts. The detail is below.
2. Courses
You are eligible for a full refund if all of these are true
- You request it within 7 calendar days of the purchase date; and
- you have accessed no more than 20% of the course lessons; and
- you have not been issued a certificate for the course; and
- the purchase was not made with a non-refundable promotional or complimentary code.
When we cannot refund
- More than 7 days have passed since purchase.
- You have completed more than 20% of the course, or downloaded a substantial part of its materials.
- A certificate has already been issued to you.
- The course was obtained free, as a gift, or through a fully discounted code.
- We reasonably determine the request is abusive — for example, repeatedly buying and refunding courses.
3. Membership
- Membership fees are refundable in full before your membership period begins — typically before your application is approved and your benefits activated.
- Once the membership period has started, fees are non-refundable, because benefits (listing, access and member rates) are made available immediately and for the whole term.
- If your application is rejected, or if we cannot activate your membership, we refund the fee in full.
- If you paid twice or paid the wrong amount, tell us and we will refund the difference.
4. If something goes wrong on our side
The limits above do not apply where the fault is ours. You are entitled to a full refund — regardless of time elapsed or progress made — if a course is materially not as described, if we withdraw a course you have paid for and cannot offer a suitable alternative, or if a technical fault on our side prevented you from accessing what you bought and we could not fix it in a reasonable time.
5. How to request a refund
- Email tesol8international@gmail.com with the subject line “Refund request”.
- Include the email address on your account, the course or membership concerned, the payment reference or receipt, and the date of purchase.
- Tell us briefly why — it is not required, but it helps us improve.
6. How long it takes
- We acknowledge refund requests within 3 business days and decide within 10 business days.
- Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Card and e-wallet refunds are processed through PayMongo and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
- Bank transfer refunds are sent to the account the payment came from; we may ask you to confirm the account details in writing.
- Any bank charges or currency conversion differences applied by your own bank are outside our control.
7. Effect of a refund
When a refund is issued, your access to the relevant course or membership benefits ends, and any certificate issued for it is withdrawn.
8. Your statutory rights
This policy sits alongside — and never replaces — rights you have by law. Philippine consumers keep their rights under the Consumer Act (RA 7394). If you buy from the EU or UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days of purchase; where that applies and is more generous than this policy, the statutory right prevails. Note that in many jurisdictions this withdrawal right can be lost once you begin consuming digital content with your express agreement.
9. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or card issuer — we can almost always resolve it faster directly. Accounts with an unresolved chargeback may be suspended until the matter is settled.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the date you bought.
