Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to change your mind at any time.
Last updated: 9 September 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies — such as your browser's local storage — do the same job. This policy covers both. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Nothing optional is set until you accept. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work without them — they do not track you across other websites.
You can change your decision at any time using the link, which is also in the footer of every page.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary — always on
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in and links your browser to your session on our server. | When you close your browser, or after a period of inactivity |
XSRF-TOKEN | Security token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. | Session |
get_cookie_consent | Remembers the cookie choice you made, so we stop asking. | 6 months |
Analytics — only if you accept
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics 4 | Measures visits and which pages and courses are popular, so we can improve them. We enable IP anonymisation and do not use these for advertising. | Up to 2 years |
If you decline, the analytics script is not loaded at all and no analytics cookie is written.
Embedded content
Lesson videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com),
which prevents YouTube from setting tracking cookies unless you actually play a video. If you press play, YouTube may
set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Membership application forms are hosted on Google Forms
and are subject to Google's cookies once you open them.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
Besides our banner, every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in and using courses. Instructions are available in your browser's help pages (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari all provide them under “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”).
5. Do Not Track
Browsers send inconsistent “Do Not Track” signals and there is no agreed standard for honouring them, so we rely on the explicit choice you make in our banner instead — it is clearer and we act on it directly.
6. Changes
If we add or remove a cookie we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. If we introduce a new optional category, we will ask for your consent again.
